Well day one doing this and it is probably not going to be the greatest blog you ever read.
Let me start by saying I am a thirty-eight year old stay at home mom, married with four kids (2 grown and 2 young), living in west Texas.
My purpose for writing this is just to get my feeling out there. With all this social networking it is great to be in contact with long lost relatives and friends but on the flip side you need to take everyone's opinion and "expertize" with a grain of salt. Sometimes you just want to get something off your chest and some people feel the need to throw in their two cents.
This will probably take me all day to write too, with a one year old on my hip and a four year old asking every 5 minutes for this or that. My husband and I live with his 65 year old aunt, (we thought it would be a good idea a year and a half ago with us losing our house and my husband was on unemployment and we lived in a fifth wheel and her husband away and we could help each other out, but more on that another time) but with all this I get little to no help, most of the time my husband works out of town with his own business and the aunt sleeps half the day and/or is to busy doing nothing to bother doing anything around here that really needs to be done . I really am at a loss when it comes to figuring out what to do short of getting a divorce which is on the bottom of the list of thing to try. I know everyone is going through hard times these days.
My days usually doesn't seem to have any end, I wake at 6 A.M. to get my four year old ready for the bus to pre-k, which is no easy task, then if my son is still asleep leave him with the aunt or my husband then out the door, if he is awake I take him with me but then I have to make sure he is ready too, then the bus arrives at 6:37 and off she goes then back to the house stopping at the newspaper box to get the newspaper for the aunt, let the chickens out to graze, then to make my son a bottle and see if we can get a few more hours sleep we usually make it till about 9:30 which at that time he is ready for another diaper change and bottle then lounge in bed watching TV and playing for another hour then get up get myself pulled together and then him, then maybe throw a load of laundry in the washer before we head downstairs to feed him at that time its like 11 or so then he is happy and playing with toys and I can watch a little food network before having to pick up my four year old at the bus stop at 12:30 then back to the house to make lunch for the pickiest four year old I know.
Throw the clothes in the dryer, check Facebook, chat with my cousin through texting and then its time to feed the little guy again, oh and I might be able to grab a bite by then if my four year old isn't asking for a drink or snack by then and then my son is getting cranky cause he's ready for a nap. Make another bottle to settle him down for a nap, feeding him while watching SpongeBob for the eleventy-seventh time then he is set in his play pen to sleep. Then maybe spend a little time organizing coupons, maybe wash some dishes and pick up from breakfast and lunch. Don't forget I have to start thinking about dinner cause no one else seems to bother, so maybe pull some meat out to thaw or ask that something be brought home which I usually have to figure what that is too but usually end up cooking most of the time. Snack time again for the four year old. My son has waken up by this time and is demanding to be held and will probably fall back asleep for at least another thirty minutes and while I hold him and see that my daughter has fallen asleep too I change the channel to food network again. After they have awaken the TV is changed back to the joyful sounds of SpongeBob. Today's project was cleaning out the fridge over crowded with molding leftovers and the stuff that was only a couple of days old got feed to the chickens and dogs. After that I look at the time and it is already 5 and my husband had left out of town this morning and probably will not be back till Sunday night, I think. So as I will not be cooking dinner tonight and no one else (the aunt) has not even bothered to even call and let me know if she'll be home in time for dinner, I am having last nights leftovers which was pork fried rice. The rest of the evening will be spent cleaning up and putting all those empty containers from the left overs in the dish washer, then playing with the kids and maybe try to watch a show or movie with them and then it's bath time and early to bed for the kids especially my daughter who has been running a fever off and on the last few days. Somewhere in here dinner was feed to the kids. My daughter wanted to come up to the bedroom around seven to get ready for bed so off we went after we picked up a little down stairs. The kids watched TV and laid in bed while I folded and hung up the clothes from the dryer, I went in to watch TV with them and my son was restless and wanted a bottle and my daughter began to fall asleep so I asked if she wanted the TV off and she said yes which makes it a little easier to put my son to sleep. Then I texted my daughter and cousin and then I had some free time to surf the web and start some early Christmas shopping. At 11:30 my son awoke and nudged around for a bit and yet again wanted another bottle and was feed and dozed back off. So maybe after all is said and done I may get to sleep by 1 thankfully we do not have to get up at 6 AM tomorrow and I am sure I'll awake every couple of hours for some odd reason (my body is still in breast feeding mode but has been done for just over 2 months now) and one of those times just as I'm about to fall asleep my son will wake up to be feed again.
That's the truth.
